The more Internet marketing offers and deals I see, the more I believe that most Internet marketing is built on nothing but lies. Let's forget the obvious get rich quick lies and just take a look at how they sell their bread and butter Internet marketing products. I think you will agree that Internet marketers tell a lot of lies. Here are just a few of the most prevalent Internet marketing lies and half truths.
I'm Giving it Away for Free
A great way to get more traffic to your site is to give something away for free. Unfortunately, most Internet marketers only let you think you are getting something valuable for free. The goal of the Internet marketer is to get as much cash as they can from your pockets. One of the ways they do this is to offer something free that will get you to spend time and effort. You then become a perfect target for their pitch to get you to spend big bucks on an enhanced product or service. Suddenly, free has become expensive.
OTO - The Famous One Time Offer
Occasionally they are actually one time offers, but that wording is often used when there is no truth to it. Most times You can just bookmark the page and return weeks later and still see the same product at the same price. The one time offer is just a sales trick to to get you to act immediately and before you have time to really think about the purchase. They know if you think about it too long you will decide to keep your money.
After the first 100 Sales the Price Goes Up
Again, it might be true, but usually the Internet marketers will sell as many as they can at the original price. I have many times seen a counter of units sold or units remaining that is nothing more than a graphic that doesn't change. It's just another trick to get you to spend your money before you put too much thought into whether you really need what they are offering.
I am Rich -- just Duplicate my System and you will be Rich too
The truth is that everyone who has become successful on the Internet found their own methods and worked long hard hours. They needed to put in the time and effort to find what worked for them. It will be same for you. You will not be able to copy their success by reading some over-hyped e-book or taking a high priced course, or joining some overpriced membership site. Internet marketing success is about hard work and learning hard lessons.
This Product can Make Money for Anyone
This Internet marketing lie is meant to convince you that there is no way you can lose money if you buy the service or product. The pitch is that the money you are spending is an investment you can easily recover plus make a profit. The unfortunate truth is that most of these products sound much easier to apply than they are. Most people never make their money back, much less make a profit. The Internet marketer gets you all wrapped up in the hype and tells you very little about the product and what you actually need to do if you are going to make money with it.
If you really want to make money and not lose it on the Internet you must start to recognize the the Internet marketing lies for what they are and put in the time to educate yourself and build your business. There is a wealth of quality information on the Internet and most of it is free. Seek out the honest people who will share advice and knowledge instead putting their hands in your pockets to take your cash.
